These countries included the UK, Switzerland, France and Canada. Today the committee has grown and now, also includes those from Germany, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Sri Lanka, Australia, and the USA. The Federation is about the culture and connecting generations, making a team of friends who turn into family as they grow and bond together. This has been a great way for the Tamil community to connect, stay connected and expand all over the world. More importantly it is getting our youth active and involved with learning about their culture and history. It promotes healthy and active living for both youth and adults through the game of badminton. As a long time supporter of the Badminton community in the City of Markham, Councillor Logan Kanapathi extended his wishes and support for the WTBF and the newly elected committee. Councillor Logan Kanapathi stated, “Badminton is a sport that everyone can play regardless of age, and brings 3 generations of people together. I am sure World Tamil Badminton Federation will provide the platform for Tamil Diaspora from all over the world to interact and unite.” Mr. Singam concluded by giving thanks to all and humbly requesting everyone’s support for a successful World Tamil Badminton Tournament.
